Needs full to part sun in average to wet soil

A food plant of sedge grasshoppers, common meadow katydid, several species of skipper and moth caterpillars, semi-aquatic leaf bettles and numerous other insects. Some wetland birds feed on the seeds. Provides over and nesting habitat for the sedge wren.

June-July flowering
