Blooms with long panicles of tubular flowers in a mixture of white, violet, pink, and purple hues. The extremely sturdy stems grow 1 to 3 feet tall in full to partial sun and loamy, moist to average soils. It rarely has problems with foliar diseases.

 

Plant Characteristics:

Grows 1-3' tall.

 

Needs full to part sun.

 

Prefers rich, moist to average, loamy soils. 

 

Blooms for about a month in late spring or early summer.

 

Wildlife Value:

 Long-tongued bees are the most important pollinators. Halictid bees, sphinx moths, and hummingbirds also visit the plant.
